The French steam locomotive Coupe-Vent 220 – C145 from 1900.

The 220 PLM C 61 to C 180 are type 220 speed locomotives from the Chemins de fer Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée or simply PLM. They had a fairing (called “windbreaker”) and were called the “big C”, as opposed to the series 220 C 11 and 12 and C 21 to 60, called “small C”.

When the SNCF was created on January 1, 1938, these machines became 5 – 220 A 1 to 120.
