“The Fashion of the 60’s: From Enthusiasm to Reality” exhibition takes place at the Centre d’Art of Andorra

“The Fashion of the 60’s: From Enthusiasm to Reality” exhibition takes place at the Centre d’Art in Escaldes-Engordany in Andorra (Pyrenees). The exhibition explores the 20th century feminine fashion of the 60’s, from Christian Dior’s New look, the use of new materials – such as metal – by Paco Rabanne, the futurism of Courrèges and the exuberance of Yves Saint Laurent.

They all produced an innovative, anarchic and anti-system fashion. Apart from its designs, the exhibition includes great fashion creators such as Balenciaga, Givenchy, Nina Ricci or Pierre Cardin. The exhibited designs belong to the private collection of Quinto-Tinarelli, which conveys the power of fashion and how, through fashion, the process of social and economic change in the 60s can be surveyed.

One decade – the one of the 60s – also transformed Andorra at all levels, from a traditional subsistence economy to an economy based on commerce and tourism. An exhibition of fashion, culture, history and inspiration!
