The Church of the Archangel Michael (Sp.Iglesia Ortodoxa Rusa San Miguel Arcángel) is a temple of the Spanish-Portuguese Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church between Alicante and Valencia (Costa Blanca), Valencian Community, Spain.

The golden domes of the temple will surely attract the attention of travelers on the section of the road between Calp and Altea.

The Church of the Archangel Michael is an Orthodox church built by a religious community in Spain in 2007 from a log house brought from the Ural region. Domes and crosses for the temple were made in 2004 in the city of Volgodonsk, Rostov region (Russia).

The temple of the Archangel Michael resembles the temples of the 17th century, built in the Byzantine style.

All employees who worked on the construction of the site were of Russian origin.

The temple is open to the public. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00, Saturdays from 10:00 to 20:00 and Sundays from 8:00 to 18:00.

Baptism rites are performed in the temple. Next to the temple is the priest’s house with rooms for conversations and festive meals.

The idea of the construction and location of the temple was coordinated with the local authorities for a long time and only thanks to the musician Mstislav Rostropovich it was finally settled. Nevertheless, the temple had to be built outside the city limits.

The temple with five golden domes was built of wood in the tradition of Russian northern architecture of the 16th-17th centuries. Located on a mountain among the trees in one of the most picturesque places on the Mediterranean coast of the Costa Blanca, next to the international A-7 motorway, which runs from France to Gibraltar.

Divine services in the parish are held on Sundays and major holidays: in the morning – Divine Liturgy, on the eve of the evening – All-night vigil.
