The Central Museum of Railway Transport of the Russian Federation is a technical museum in St. Petersburg dedicated to railways, trains and everything connected with it. Founded in 1813.
The museum originates from the fund of the Institute of the Corps of Railway Engineers, at the opening of which a “special hall” was provided for storing models. The first models in the “special hall” arrived in 1813 . Originally it was located in the palace of Prince Yusupov (the modern address is the embankment of the Fontanka River, house 115).
Currently, the museum’s funds contain more than 70 thousand items of storage. There are sites: the Museum of Bridges (Muchnoy lane, 2), the Center for Railway Modeling (Sadovaya st., 55-57), Pioneer Park (Station Lebyazhye, natural exhibits).
