The academic council of the University of Andorra (La Universitat d’Andorra) on universal suffrage will elect on May 18 a new rector. The acting rector of University of Andorra Daniel Bastida made the decision to retire at own will. As it said in the Official bulletin of the Principality of Andorra (El Butlletí Oficial del Principat d’Andorra), the list of candidates will be finally created by the end of the working day on May 12.
According to the current law, the rector is chosen by the Academic council of university by absolute majority of voices. Candidates need to have health certificate, have the academic experience not less than six years. Promotion of the candidate has to be supported by at least five teachers of university.
