Summer nights in the museums of Andorra (part 1)

Tuesday, 2nd July at 21h at the historic site of Les Bons, Encamp (Prior booking obligatory on tel. (+376) 833 551). A guided visit to the nucleus of Les Bons and to the historical complex. The visit will end with live music in the interior of Sant Romà de les Bons. The historical group of buildings of Les Bons is located in the village of Encamp. It is made up of the church of Sant Romà, an old defense tower, two dovecots and a water tank dug into the rock.

This interesting group takes us back to Andorra’s medieval period. It is strategically located in a rocky outpost from where they could control the entrance to the valley. It emphasizes the tiny 12th century church of Sant Romà, which houses a reproduction of the Romanesque paintings of the Mestre de Santa Coloma. The slab teeth on the doorway and the apse are the only architectural decorations in the building.

Wednesday, 3rd July at 20.30h and 22h at the Escaldes-Engordany Art Center, Escaldes-Engordany. (Prior booking obligatory on tel. 802 255 or at [email protected] ) A Guided tour of the exhibition “African Art: the Cradle of humanity. A journey to deepen your understanding of the enigmatic figures, fetishes and masks produced by multiple African cultures.

Saturday, 6th July at 19.30h at the Historical Centre of Andorra la Vella. (Prior booking, ticket sales and more information at the Tourist Office of Andorra la Vella, tel. (+376) 750 100.) Travel through history and legends (in Spanish. A theatrical visit to the old quarter of Andorra la Vella that recreates the adventures of three people who flee from the authorities and take advantage of the presence of a group to camouflage and cross the streets together. You will discover houses, streets, legends and other stories.
