Skier from Italy Federica Brignone won the World Cup in SUPER-G in Tarter (Andorra)

federika_brignoneSkier from Italy Federica Brignone won the World Cup in SUPER-G in Grandvalira, Andorra (Pyrenees).

She got the first result (57.33 seconds), ahead of the athlete from the United States Ross Laurenne +0.13 seconds and the Austrian skier Tippler Tamara (+0,37).

1. Federica Brignone (Italy) – 57.33.
2. Laurenne Ross (USA) — 57,46.
3. Tamara Tippler (Austria) – 57.70.

Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn was injured and taken to hospital. “Got caught in the soft snow today and crashed pretty hard. X-rays showed I have a hairline fracture in my left knee and will get an MRI Monday. I will wait and see how I feel tomorrow to decide if I can race”, Lindsey wrote in her FB page.

The contests took place in poor visibility conditions. There was a heavy snowfall on Friday which continues till Sunday.
