Serie 1000 Madrid
The 1000 series railcars began to serve on line 2 of Madrid Metro (Spain), between August 1965 and July 1966.
They then circulated on line 4 and finally moved to line 5 until their final withdrawal in 2002. They had a narrow gauge for a track width of 1,445 mm. They were 4-door vehicles with a seated capacity of 24 passengers.
The interior of these cars is covered with metal sheets lined with washable plastic material, which were originally light green and later ocher. The shape of the holes is directly inspired by the New York subway: smaller dimensions than those of the Legazpi series and with rounded corners.
