Sauveterre-de-Rouergue is a commune in the Aveyron department in southern France (Occitania).
It is one of the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (most beautiful villages of France).
Former royal bastide located 30 km from Rodez on the route of the Méridienne Verte which passes a few hundred meters from the town (the town was associated with this operation in 2000), Sauveterre-de-Rouergue is located on the last foothills of the Massif Central, at 466 meters above sea level.
The town is built on the Ségala plateau, largely cut by a dense hydrographic network (the land of a hundred valleys).
