Sadovnicheskaya embankment

Sadovnicheskaya embankment is along the left (northern) bank of the Vodootvodny Canal in the Zamoskvorechye district of the Central Administrative District of Moscow. It lies between the Cast Iron Bridge (Balchug Street) and the Maly Krasnokholmsky Bridge (Garden Ring).

The numbering of houses is conducted from the Cast-iron bridge. In addition to the mentioned bridges, the embankment is connected to the canal’s southern bank by the Kommissariat Bridge, the pedestrian Sadovnichesky Bridge, and the Zverev Bridge. Until 1922, the section from Sadovnichesky Lane to the Garden Ring was called Osipovskaya Embankment, and the part from Balchug to Sadovnichesky Lane was called Kulakovskaya Embankment. It is connected with Sadovnicheskaya Street by Komissariatsky and Sadovnichesky lanes.
