Roadster “Krym”. Orange version
The decision to create the first prototype of the roadster Krym (“Crimea”) was made in 2013, at the same time the name of the project was chosen.
The team of project engineers was formed from the first composition of the Bauman Formula Student team. The guys who went through the Formula school got excellent practical skills and became good specialists. Then, together with the team leader, it was decided to start a new project, where the guys will be able to realize themselves as young engineers and create a civilian car.
At the heart of the car is a metal space frame, the outer panels are made of composite materials. The body kit of the first prototype is made of carbon fiber and fiberglass, and the panels themselves are reinforced with steel rods to make them rigid. 70% of roadster parts are serial components from Kalina family cars, 30% are in-house development.
Initially, the first prototype was conceived as a running layout for testing technical solutions. However, later it turned into a full-fledged car, recognizable on the streets and in the Internet space. Of course, the first “Crimea” has its drawbacks, but it was to search for design flaws that multiple road tests were carried out. Improved engineering and technological ideas were implemented in the second prototype.
