Renault Phaeton Type T from 1904, one cylinder, 864 cc, 7 HP, 40 km/h

The Renault Type T was an early passenger car model from Renault. It was also called 7 CV.

The model was presented in December 1903 at the Paris Motor Show. It replaced the Renault Type R. The state licensing authority granted the license on February 9, 1904. Production ended in the same year. At first there was no successor.

A single-cylinder engine with a bore of 100 mm and a stroke of 110 mm produced 7 hp from a displacement of 864 cm³. This was the last single-cylinder engine in a Renault. The side-mounted water cooler had nine cooling elements. The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a cardan shaft. Depending on the translation, the top speed was specified as 31 km/h to 51 km/h.

With a wheelbase of 230 cm, the vehicle was 340 cm long and 150 cm wide. The chassis weighed 540 kg, the complete vehicle 900 kg. The choices were Tonneau and Phaeton.

The price in December 1903 was 5500 francs.

The auction house H&H Classics Limited auctioned a tonneau on June 16, 2012 for £65,000. Its engine power is given as 9 hp. Bonhams auction house auctioned another 1904 tonneau on 2 November 2018 for £75,900. A tonneau, phaeton are in the Cité de l’Automobile in Mulhouse.
