The Minister of foreign Affairs of Andorra and his Portuguese colleague discussed the question of the conclusion of agreements on avoidance of double taxation

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Andorra Gilbert Saboya met with his colleague from Portugal foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva in the headquarters of the Ministry of foreign Affairs in Lisbon. The meeting participants discussed topics of mutual interest for the development of bilateral relations, said in a statement of the Government of Andorra.

The question of the conclusion of agreements on avoidance of double taxation, signed in September of 2015, was one of the most important subjects of the meeting. The parties intend to continue work in this direction. It is planned that the Treaty will be ratified by the parliaments of the two countries in the near future.

The Ministers also noted the importance of the issues related to the life of the Portuguese community in Andorra, the study of Portuguese language at the schools in Andorra and the collaboration of the University of Andorra with the University Camões.

During the meeting, Gilbert Saboya also raised the question of the evolution of negotiations between Andorra and the EU on the Association agreement and cooperation in the Ibero-American sphere. In particular, in the second half of 2016 in Andorra the meeting of Ministers of education of the countries of the Association is scheduled. It is expected that the meeting will be prepararion for the summit of the heads of all the states of the Association in Cartagena (Colombia) at the end of 2016.
