Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), created on June 18, 1990, is a public university located in Barcelona. In 2010, it obtained the qualification of Campus of International Excellence from the Ministry of Education. According to the Times Higher Education ranking, UPF is one of the seven fastest growing young universities in the world and also ranks as the most efficient and most productive Spanish university according to various benchmark rankings.

UPF structures its studies around three campuses and three areas of knowledge:

Social and human sciences (Ciutadella campus)

Information and communication sciences and technologies (Communication campus)

Health and life sciences (Campus del Mar)

The university offers these courses through seven faculties (Humanities, Health and Life Sciences, Economics and Business, Political and Social Sciences, Communication, Law, Translation and Language Sciences;)

School of Engineering and eight departments (Economics and Business, Law, Political and Social Sciences, Humanities, Experimental and Health Sciences, Information and Communication Technologies, Communication, Translation and Language Sciences).

It also has four affiliated or linked centers (School of International Trade -ESCI-, ELISAVA School of Design, School of Nursing of the Sea -ESIM- and the centers of the Tecnocampus Mataró-Maresme Foundation); three postgraduate platforms (Barcelona School of Management -BSM-, Barcelona Institute of International Studies -IBEI-, Barcelona Graduate School of Economics -Barcelona GSE-) that complement its training offer.
