MICHEL LEEB 40 YEARS IN CONCERT: Wednesday, 7th June at 21h at the Centre de Congressos, Andorra la Vella. (20€, or 5€ for school children presented by the French Embassy. Tickets from Andorra la Vella Tourist Office.) Saison Culturelle 2017 (in French) 40 years is an anniversary, a time to receive presents. “I have received thousands and thousands over so many years.” says Michel Leeb. “The public cannot imagine how much they have fed my creativity. It is now my turn to give them a present with this show, full of memories where you can find, pell-mell, sketches, impersonations, parodies and always accompanied by good musicians. Only Music Hall can offer so many emotions.”
AT HOME WITH THE COR INTERNACIONAL d’ANDORRA. Friday, 9th June starting at 20h in the Sala d’Actes of the Comú of Escaldes-Engordany (5€) Annual fundraiser for the choir of the International Club of Andorra. Much more than just a concert! 20h delicious, international pica-pica finger food and drinks. 20.30 Concert full of life and variety with choir songs and solos and something for the audience to join in too. Finally, a grand raffle with prizes donated by some of the country’s best known shops.
FESTA LYRICA Saturday, 10th June at 20.30 and Sunday, 11th June at 18h at the Cultural Centre, Sant Julià de Lòria. (20€) Semi-staged opera performance. Enjoy a story created from fragments of the most important Sarsueles. A tour of the most festive arias and vocal repertoire. Directed by and starring Jonaina Salvador (soprano) plus five other voices, a Quintet of piano, violin, flute, oboe and double bass plus the Cor de les Valls d’Andorra and the Esbart Laurèdia folkdance group.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Monday, 29th May – Thursday, 1st June at the Cinemes Illa Carlemany, Escaldes-Engordany. Directed by Joachim Rønning & Espen Sandberg Starring: Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem. The Story: Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Capt. Jack Sparrow feels the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost sailors led by his old nemesis, the evil Capt. Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it, he must forge an uneasy alliance with a brilliant and beautiful astronomer and a headstrong young man in the British navy.
STREET MARKETS
COLLECTORS’ MARKET. Saturday, 10th June at the Passatge d’Arnaldeta de Caboet, Escaldes-Engordany. A re-opening of this market. There will be four stands to start with selling books, postcards, photographs, coins and notes, pins, stamps, fossils and collectable toy cars.
ENCAMP Saturday MARKET From 10h – 14h, Plaça Sant Miquel, Encamp. Once again the shopkeepers of Encamp will be laying out their wares. A very jolly looking affair, each week there will be different activities such as botifarrades sausage barbeques, art exhibitions, face painting for the little ones and music.
CHARITY MINI CIRCUS (No animals involved) Sunday, 11th June from 13h at the Buda, Andorra la Vella (4€) Cap i Cua is organising the event with all money raised going to the Associació pels Animals del Pirineu who neuter stray cats and rehome abandoned dogs in Holland and Germany. Everyone is welcome and we will also have a stand selling bits and bobs.
