CHRISTMAS CONCERT AT THE CASA D’ARENY-PLANDOLIT, ORDINO. Thursday, 28th December at 19.30h in the Museum Casa d’Areny-Plandolit, Ordino. (4€. Prior to the concert, on sale at the National Museum of Automobiles, Museum Casa d’Areny-Plandolit, Museum Casa Rull, Farga Rossell and Casa de la Vall. Or at the door on the night depending of availability.) EVA SAURET, soprano and MÍRIAM MANUBENS, piano will interpret some of the best known arias from opera ranging from the Baroque to Romanticism (MOZART, SAINT-SAËNS, PUCCINI & VIVALDI) in the first half whilst in the second half they will perform some of the most popular TRADITIONAL CATALAN CAROLS.
51ST THEATRE SEASON OF ELS PASTORETS. Tuesday 26th at 20h and Saturday, 30th December at 18h at the Centre Cultural, Sant Julià de Lòria. (Tickets 10€ from the Centre or online from www.morabanc.ad/entradas ) PROFESSIONALLY DIRECTED by JUANMA CASERO with a large cast of inspired amateur actors from all over Andorra. This is a very popular Christmas show: half pantomime, half nativity play, full of devils and angels and two young shepherds who get lost on their way to Bethlem. Satan and Sant Miguel challenge each other in the most powerful struggle of mankind: the struggle between Good and Evil. The Cockerel/ Midnight Mass is about to begin. Everyone is very nervous. Lluquet and Rovelló, the two young shepherds, arrive late, as usual. Will Sant Miguel understand that Lluquet and Rovelló are, underneath, good people? Will Satan condemn them forever? Both will live through a fantastic adventure in the midst of this struggle that will make them grow and know the story of Els Pastorets.
TIÓ, TIÓ, XAROP DE BASTÓ Tuesday, 26th December at 12h in the vestibule of the Centre Cultural, Sant Julià de Lòria by the entertainment group XAROP DE CANYA. This is a dramatised version of what will have been happening in homes throughout Andorra, the ancient tradition of the Tió or log with a cheeky human face, which, after days of careful nurturing with food and drink by the children of the household, will finally be called on to shit sweets and nuts for the excited youngsters.
CHILDREN & YOUTHS
ANDORRA’S 26TH SALON FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTHS, in Encamp. Opens in Encamp on Wednesday, 27th December – Monday, 1st January from 16h – 21h at the Sports Complex, Encamp. (5€ per day or a six-day season ticket for Encamp at 18€ and, the following week, a 3 day season ticket for Pas de la Casa is 8€.) Salon for children and youths aged from 2 –18. This very popular event attracts young of all ages. Activities are spread between various zones in the complex dependant on age.
CONFERENCE ROOM: simulation games (GP motorcycle, water motorcycle, motorcycle and motorcycle helmets), two rolling-xtreme, three stretch beds and a table of Surf, in addition to the novelty of a ski simulator and a rally.
PARTY ROOM: Children and young people can enjoy electronic games (Wii, Playstation), air-hockey tables, a laser shot with screen, two double baskets, a child’s carousel, a basketball table, four arcade machines, a table of shovels, two footballs and a hammer game like the one we find in the firetak. In addition, they can test their reflexes with the batak and enjoy a game at FIFA 17 on a 50-inch screen.
THE GYM ROOM, is reserved for the youngest participants where they will find a toy library and inflatables, as well as mini-fitnes.
THE POOL will also be an active installation for those who decide to bring swimwear, towel and bathing cap. There they will find an aquatic blanket, an inflatable toboggan and pedal boat.
THE MULTIPURPOSE ROOM will have inflatables (dragon castle, skill shooting, gladiator’s fight, human football), a circuit of electric cars, a psychomotricity circuit, electric skates or pedal karts and a variable pressure mountain. In addition, this year, there will be the novelty of 4×1 jumping and an American Las Vegas track. From the multipurpose track, you can access soccer field 7, where will be installed an xtrem-jump and a wipeout ballway .
In addition, every day, in the Conference Hall, there will be different workshops (such as the makeup workshop) and children’s shows, to round off the extensive offer of the Hall.
(From the 3rd to the 5th January, the Salon will move to Pas de La Casa.)
A WORKSHOP TO MAKE ‘POP CAKES’ Thursday, 28th December at 16h at the public library, Pas de la Casa in celebration of the Day of the Innocents with MARTINA LINARES. (Free: the activity is for children aged 6 and over) Pop cakes are decorated balls of cake mix on lollipop sticks. They look fun.
