Wednesday, 31st October at 20h at the Hard Rock Cafe, Andorra la Vella. Halloween at Hard Rock Cafe! with Jack the Riff.

Thursday 1st & Friday, 2nd November at 20:30h at the Cultural Centre, Sant Julià de Lòria. (Tickets: 25€ ). Svetlana Voropaeva piano concert. Svetlana Voropaeva and Elena Tezeykina will offer an instrumental concert by famous composers such as Granadors, Brahms, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninov and Moshkovisky playing both duets and solos. Svetlana Voropaeva was born in 1988, graduated from the Rodion Shchedrin music school and later from the Samara Academy of Culture and Arts as a concert soloist. She has won several piano contests and has performed in many places around the world. For her part, Elena Tezeykina was born in Samara and graduated from the city’s music school where she, too, won several awards.

Saturday, 3rd November at 17h in the church of Sant Bartomeu, Soldeu. (Free but advanced booking essential at 753 624 or at the Canillo Public Library 753 623) Trio Casablancas. The programme includes pieces by D. Shostakovich, S. Rachmaninoff, Benet Casablancas and F. Mendelssohn. MUSICIANS: Asia Jiménez (violin); Carolina Bartumeu (cello); Jorge Nava (piano).

Wednesday, 31st October at 10h in the Casa Pairal/Llar off the upstairs terrace, La Closetta. (For children aged 6 – 10 and Seniors aged 60 and over.) Places limited. Inscriptions and information 736 911) Intergenerational Panellets (marzipan sweetmeats) Workshop. 17h at the Casa Pairal for those over 65. (Inscriptions 736 911) Roast chestnuts and panallets.

FESTIVAL DE CASTANYADA (Chestnuts Festival) ENCAMP

Monday, 29th October – Friday, 2nd November at the Hostal de Barony, Encamp. (Open registrations for the activities over the All Saints/Halloween half term week. Inscriptions must be formalized at the reception of the Encamp Sports Complex. Aimed at children aged 6 – 12. There is only space for 45 children. The price of the five days is 85.35€, with a 10% discount on presenting the cards of the Club Piolet or the carnet jove or, as a day user of the Youth Department. There is a 20% discount for the second sibling.) The Encamp Espai Jove (Youth Space) proposal will begin on October 29 at the Sports and Sociocultural Complex of Encamp, followed by departure to the Barony Hostel. Once there, and until 2nd November, the children will spend the week taking part in various sports, recreational and cultural activities geared to the themes of Halloween and All Saints Festival, such as the Fear Museum and the Chestnut Celebration.

Tuesday 20th & Wednesday, 31st October sees the traditional trip to Port Aventura’s amusement park in Spain. (The price of the outing is 85.35€, with a 10% discount on presenting the carnet Jove. Places are limited to forty people.) The activity of Espai Jove, aimed at young people aged between 12 and 17, takes advantage of the coincidence with the amusement park’s Halloween party.

Wednesday, 31st October in the Plaça de Sant Miquel, Encamp and Plaça de l’Església de Sant Pere, Pas de la Casa. Castanyada (roast chestnuts) for everyone in Encamp and Pas de la Casa. On the Eve of Tots Sants (All Saints) we will be celebrating the traditional Castenyada. This popular festival organised around roasted chestnuts served in their paper cones and helped down with the good taste of Muscatel, marks the celebration of one of the festivals most rooted in the Encamp Parish. (Hot chestnuts will be served until the supply is exhausted).

PAS DE LA CASA

Monday, 29th October – Friday, 2nd November (For prices see the first paragraph under the opening headline above – except that inscriptions for Pas de la Casa must be made at their sports centre.) In Pas de la Casa the Youth Department has prepared activities around the Halloween festival and All Saints, where the children will have, amongst other things, workshops (Halloween make-up, and All Saints panellets – marzipan sweetmeats), a terror obstacle course, a fancy dress party and ‘trick or treat’ around the village, as well as traditional roasted chestnuts. In addition, they will take a trip to the Cinemes Illa Carlemany.

CINEMA

Monday 29th & Tuesday, 30th October at 19:45h at Cinemes Illa Carlemany, Escaldes-Engordany. (For those 16 and over) Halloween. Directed by David Gordon Green. Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak. Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

CHILDREN

Tuesday, 30th October at 17:30h in the Public Library of Pas de la Casa. Storytime: A story telling session for a family audience with La Castanyera del Pas de la Casa (The chestnut seller of Pas de la Casa.) The Pas de la Casa Library is organizing a storytelling session for a family audience where Martina Linares and Teresa Blanco will tell us the story of the traditional figure of the Castanyera, an old woman in apron and scarf, and the celebration of Castanyada at Pas de la Casa.

Wednesday, 31st October at 16:30h & 17:30h in the Musuem Thyssen, Escaldes-Engordany. (Free. Space limited. Pre-bookng essential at [email protected] or tel. 800 800) El museu dels horrors: The Mystery of the young Scot. The Story. The most terrifying night of the year approaches, and a mystery emerges in the Carmen Thyssen Andorra Museum. The second edition of The Museum of Horrors presents a terrifying story: The Mystery of the young Scot.
This cultural proposal includes a storytelling workshop, which relates a phantasmagorical story inspired by a work in the current exhibition. “Femina Feminae”, especially aimed at the youngest, and a workshop of a surprise handmade creation dedicated to the Night of the Dead where horror has its place. Reservations at 739 111 or [email protected]) Halloween party 2018 at the MW Electricity Museum. Come celebrate Halloween with us and you will experience an afternoon full of surprises! Halloween Show Escape with Mercè Canals & Olga Armengol from FEDACULTURE and a fancy dress competition with great prizes!
