Shuffle Express in Concert (Free) A night of traditional and contemporary blues in different styles (swing, rock, shuffle, calypso…) with cover versions by artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, Joe Bonamassa, Susan Tedeschi & Jr. Watson, as well as music composed by the band itself. During the three days, Sant Julià will be transformed into an authentic medieval village with a market of more than 50 stands, traveling parades (musicians, shows, giants etc.), theatre, children’s games, storytelling, and many other surprises where all members of the family, grandparents, parents and children can participate. (‘Tales of the Pyrenees’ in Catalan) Three stories that explain to children the history and traditions of the Pyrenees, such as Arsèguel’s Accordionist’s Meeting, The Fame of Arfa’s Cherries and the Existence of Wolves in La Cerdanya.
NATURE
Saturday, 29th September at 9h, starting from the Comapredosa Interpretation Centre, Arinsal, La Massana. (Inscriptions to: [email protected] or +376 837 111.) The White Stones in the Comapedrosa River. A guided excursion to the Valls del Comapedrosa Natural Park. Discover the white stones and the particular geochemistry of the Comapedrosa river. The white stones of the Comapedrosa river are an unusual and particular aspect that can only be found in one place in the park.
During the trip we will be introduced to the geological environment of the park and the peculiarities of the waters. This will allow us to discover why the stones on the riverbed are white. At 9h there will be a welcome chat at the Comapedrosa Interpretation Center. Then we set out towards the Refuge of Comapedrosa, with 630 meters of uneven paths. The activity will involve a half-day excursion, and we will climb almost 400m on a path of medium difficulty to a certain point on the Comapedrosa river. Explanations will be given by Dr. Ramon Copons Llorens and Dr. Elena García Antón on the unique geochemistry of this river.
