MUSIC
MONDAY, 1st July at 20h in the National Auditorium, Ordino. (Free) A Performance by the Orchestra and Corps de ballet of China’s National Theatre of Opera and Dance. The orchestra has made several tours around Asia, Europe and Australia, which have contributed to the dissemination of the richness and diversity of Chinese culture. In the concert, traditional dances will also be performed by the corps de ballet. Organised by the Andorran Government, at the end of the event, attendees can sample some of the traditional dishes of Chinese cuisine such as sweet and sour pork, spicy beef, ravioli and rice balls, made specifically for the occasion by a Chinese chef.

Wednesday, 3rd July at 22h at the National Auditorium, Ordino. (Free) ONCA Basic Cycle: Solo Sax with Guillem Tudó (saxophone and voice.) The programme consists of the most representative works of jazz and swing through the sound of the two most representative instruments of these styles: the saxophone and the voice. Known and unknown pieces that will allow you to remember great artists like Frank Sinatra: Strangers in the night, Luis Armstrong: Wonderful World, Edith Piaf: La vie en rose and George Gershwin: Summertime, among many others. A varied programme, alternating jazz and swing, fast tunes and slow, to revive these great classics among the audience. The Concert is organized by the l’Associació Andorrana de Vehicles Antics on the occasion of the first meeting of the World Rally of old vehicles of the FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens)

Thursday, 4th July at 21h at the Casa Rull Museum, La Massana (Free Prior booking obligatory. More information at tel. (+376) 836 908.) Summer Nights in the Museums: with Duke Van Hoecke and Albert Piá in concert. At the beginning of the 19th century, there was a great frenzy in Vienna for the csakan (a sweet-sounding flute derived from the shepherd’s flute) and for the romantic guitar, ancestor of the current classical guitar. A virtuoso duo, formed by the Andorran guitarist Albert Pià and the Belgian flute player Jan van Hoecke, will play an original, varied and brilliant program that will take us to the Viennese venues of that time.

Thursday, 4th July at 19h at FNAC Andorra (in the basement of Pyrénées Department store), Andorra la Vella. (Free) Quim Salvat at the FNAC Forum. Quim Salvat presents Quan la Música pot anar més enllà in the FNAC Forum, accompanied by Oriol Vilella on guitar.

Friday, 5th July at 21.30h at the Hard Rock Café, Andorra la Vella. (Free) Hard Rock Concerts: Alcarabanda A concert of pop rock.

Saturday, 6th July at 19h in the Sant Miquel de Prats church, Canillo. (Free. Reservations with Cultural Heritage on Tel (+376) 844 141) Basic ONCA Cycle 2019: Soundtracks Duo Cello Sax with Efrem Roca (saxophone) and Mireia Planas (cello) This is a program that looks at the complexity between two physically very different instruments, but of similar resonance. The repertoire proposes pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pierre-Max Dubois, Toots Thielemans, Errol Garner and Heinz Both.

DANCE Wednesday, 3rd July at 15h at the Plaça de l’Església, Pas de la Casa. Summer afternoon at Pas de la Casa with the Cancan. A show that will take us to the time of burlesque and cabaret, with reviews, far west and cancan, in the purest style of the legendary musicals of Moulin Rouge or Chorus Line.

Thursday, 4th July at 22h at Prat Gran, Encamp. Encamp in the key of light with voice and dance of the Esbart Sant Romà. Piano, accordion, voices, strings and percussion of Andorran musicians who fuse with the Esbart Sant Romà. An exclusive installation for “Encamp in the key of light”, in which the characteristic style of contemporary fusion and traditions of the campsite will be used to build an eclectic programme accompanied by live music by Miguel Palacios, David Font, Mar Capdevila, Toni Fernández, David Amat, Mariona del Carmen, Lídia Rodríguez and Josep Vilarrubla.

CINEMA Monday 1st – Thursday 4th July at 20.15 h at the Cinemes Illa Carlemany, Escaldes-Engordany. Tell it to the Bees. Directed by Annabel Jankel, Starring: Anna Paquin, Gregor Selkirk, Euan Mason. The Story: In 1952 Dr. Jean Markham returns to her Scottish hometown to take over her late father’s medical practice. She soon becomes ostracized by the community when she begins a passionate romance with a woman who has a young son.

Monday, 1st July at 22h in the Plaça Mayor, Sant Julià de Lòria, Summer evenings: Entre Muntanyes (in Catalan) A documentary about the much loved Mossén Ramon and his children’s summer camp, AINA. Between mountains, the roots of the tree was born as an idea at the beginning of 2017, but it is the result of lifelong drinking at the fountain of the children’s colony of AINA, a reference point in leisure education in Andorra and Catalonia. The desire to record the experiences lived, summer after summer, by several generations of youngsters who grew up learning from the teachings of Mossen Ramon led to a documentary. During the summer of 2017, a multidisciplinary team of young people from different parts of the world took on the challenge and coexisted with the three summer camps to be able to leave a visual testimony for all the people who have lived AINA from within and for all those generations that, unfortunately, will not know the house of summer camps as has been lived up to now.

Tuesday, 2nd July at 17h at Prat Gran, Encamp. (Free) Afternoons in Encamp with Trastos Band. A very dynamic show that brings together dances and songs from a wide array of rhythms and styles ranging from the Catalan rumba, through folk, ska, reggae, swing, and even a bit of rock- and-roll.

Thursday, 4th July at 17h at Prat Gran, Encamp. (Free) Afternoons in Encamp with Queviures de Parranda. Welcome to our shop where you will find animations, songs, a varied assortment of stories, dances and games!
Every Saturday from 6th July to 10th August and from 10h – 13h and 16h – 19h at the Plaça de l’Església, Pas de la Casa and at the Prat Gran, Encamp, you will find lots of Inflatables where you can have fun with your friends.

Saturday, 6th July from 9h – 13h Different places of the parish, Escaldes-Engordany. (Limited places. Registration open at [email protected] ) Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley Day. To commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Valley being enrolled in the World Heritage List, we are organizing a guided tour for all audiences. Itinerary: Circuit of Les Fonts (Escaldes-Engordany) and Ràmio.

Sunday, 7th July at 10h from Bordas d’Envalira, zone of the car park next to the Hotel Peretol, Canillo. (Compulsory registration by email or by phone at (+376) 742 630.) Outing to discover the Butterflies of the Vall de Soldeu. We will follow a track from the area of the Peretol Hotel in the valley of Soldeu, passing through fields and meadows of pasture and areas of black pine forest. The diversity of environments will allow us to find various butterflies that we will learn to differentiate. Wear suitable clothes and footwear for the mountains, and it is recommended to bring some food for breakfast. The purpose of the trip is to discover the diversity and biology of the most common butterflies in Andorra. With the help of specialists we will observe and learn to differentiate them, as well as to know the curious things about them.

Sunday, July 7th the 36th edition of the Encamp Mountain Traverse. The registration period to participate will be open until July 5th at 20h via the web www.eventselit.com or, Tel: 376 342 534. If you wish to do it on site, on Saturday, 6th July from 17h – 20h at the reception of the Sports and Sociocultural Complex of Encamp, the day in which the collection of dorsals will also be carried out there will be a surcharge of 5€. The cost of the long, 21km route and medium 14 km route is 15€ and 10€ for the short, 4.5km or family route. In addition, you must have valid insurance for the competition or hire one per day. Thursday, 4th July at 20h at the University of Andorra, Sant Julià de Lòria. Informative sessions at Open Days at the University of Andorra. The University of Andorra has programmed an informative open-door session aimed at parents and high school students on the occasion of the pre-enrolment period for the next academic year 2019-2020. Presentations, with free admission, will take place in the Hall of the University (6th floor). The objective of this informative session is that parents and future students get to know the University’s facilities and the training offered, and so that they can clarify all kinds of doubts about the professional and academic outcomes of the studies taught there.

From 1st July – 8th September, Encamp Comú is laying on a bus from the Plaça dels Arínsols, Encamp going via the Funicamp to Les Pardines which takes you into the mountains and to the start of the botanical walk to Engolasters. A single ticket is 1€ or free for those with the tarja magna. It leaves Arínsols at 9h, 10h 11h, 13h, 16h, 18h and 20h and from Les Pardines at 9.30h 10.30h 11.30h, 14h, 16.30h 18.30h and 20.30h.

STREET MARKETS
Saturday, 6th July from 10h – 14h in the Plaça dels Arínsols, Encamp. Encamp Saturday market. The Encamp Entrepreneurs Association (AEE) recommences their traditional market as a showcase for trade in the parish. This initiative, which was launched in 2014 with the collaboration of the Comú d’Encamp, has had numerous auxiliary activities such as botifarrades (sausage barbeques) children’s face painting, magic, musical performances or batucades (drum bands).

Saturday, 6th July from 11h – 21h in the Historic Centre, Andorra la Vella. Vall Market. On the first Saturday of every month from May to October, the Vall de la Vall market stalls will offer you creative crafts, art and agrifood products. There will be workshops in the morning and entertainments in the afternoon.
