MUSIC

Monday, 15th July at 19h in the Plaça Coprínceps, Escaldes-Engordany. (Free) Xiula (Little girl) family concert. A unique experience of musical animation: own songs with a floundering but professional look, working with critical content and with spirit. A wild journey through very varied musical styles with songs that work in an entertaining way.

Tuesday, 16th July at 19.30h in the Plaça Coprínceps, Escaldes-Engordany. (Free) Sax Fest 2019. Concert of the finalist of the 6th Sax Fest accompanied by a string quartet of the ONCA Basic.

Tuesday, 16th July at 22h in the Church of Sant Miquel de la Mosquera, Encamp. (Free) Encamp in the key of light with Haváname. The Cuban group that has been, without a doubt, the musical discovery of the last festival of Havaneras (popular sea shanties descended from the sea trade between Havana and Barcelona) of Calella de Palafrugell. Three female voices, accompanied by classical Spanish guitar and percussion, offer a sound much more in accordance with their Caribbean roots. Their repertoire consists of Catalan Habaneras and those with more traditional Cuban sounds.

Wednesday, 17th July at 19h in the Plaça Coprínceps, Escaldes-Engordany. (Free) Early Music: A Family concert. The formation of the Suzuki School of Valencia, that works using an alternative method of musical education, this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. An attractive repertoire aimed at all audiences in which some thirty young violinists and pianists aged between 10 and 18 will be performing pieces from the classical, popular, modern and cinema repertoire. A concert remarkable for the uniqueness of the ensemble, the chosen music, and the young age of the performers.

Wednesday, 17th July at 15h at the Plaça de l’Església, Pas de la Casa. (Free) Summer afternoon at Pas de la Casa with Bollywood. Colour, joy and positive energy is what this show offers, carrying us to the world of Bollywood, an exotic moment in the encampadano summer.

Thursday, 18th July at 21h in the Plaça Coprínceps, Escaldes-Engordany. (Free) Night of Silence. The third year of this popular scenario where three DJs fight to have their chosen music listened to as they send it out, through headphones, on three different radio channels. Ask for your headphones and choose from the DJs three styles of music. The rest of the audience will enjoy an outdoor party while you, listening through the headphones, appear to dance in silence.

Thursday, 18th July at 21h & 21.30h at the Tobacco Museum, Sant Julià de Lòria. (Free) Summer Nights at the Museums: visits to the Tobacco Museum. Plus 21h – 22.30h Visits to its temporary exhibition. Followed at 22.30h by a Concert in the Museum Garden by The Sonoritats Trio which seeks collaboration in the Romanticism of the works of Glinka and Bruch, through the great Aitor Piazzolla and ending with the landscapes of the valleys of Navarra.

Thursday, 18th July at 22h at the Plaça dels Arínsols, Encamp. (Free) Encamp in the key of light with The Hanfris Quartet and Oriol Gonzàlez Crazy Trio. A show that mixes spectacular barbershop with the energy of jazz, the dynamics of rock and roll cover versions, the standards of jazz and swing, the peculiarity of musicals, the magic of Disney movies. A show in which humour, subtlety and even dancing are some of the weapons of this septet.

Friday, 19th July at 21.30h at Lake Engolasters, Escaldes-Engordany. (Free) Biennial L’ANDart 2019: Living spaces. Two different languages that come hand in hand offered by Emma Riba Santuré (dancer and creator) and David Font Bernet (professional guitarist, creator of performing arts and sound arts). A duet of movement and music that starts with the concepts of improvisation and composition, drawing inspiration from the space, the environment and the moment. The nuances and uniqueness of each place impregnates the pieces, claiming a stage of artistic creation.

Saturday, 20th July at 13.30h in the Parc Gran del Prat del Colat, La Massana. (Free) Vibrand Concert in the Key of Soul. Get carried away by music while enjoying the Serenalla Market (See Markets below.) You will hear cover versions of the best performances of the past by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Jamiroquai, Adele, Sting, Bruno Mars, Nina Simone, The Beatles, Joss Stone, James Brown, Ray Charles, Tom Jobim and others. Musicians: Virginia Yañez (keyboards and vocals); Marc Milian (bass and sound); Dante Falótico (drums).

Sunday, 21st July at 12h at the Sant Serni de Llorts Church, Ordino. (Free) Basic ONCA Cycle 2019: Soundtracks Duo Cello Sax with Efrem Roca (saxophone) and Mireia Planas (cello) This is a program that looks at the complexity between two physically very different instruments, but of similar resonance. Their repertoire proposes pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pierre-Max Dubois, Toots Thielemans, Errol Garner and Heinz Both.

Sunday, 21st July at 20h at Lake Engolasters, Encamp. The 9th Pyrenean Festival of Early Music. Femap Concert: Giardino di Delizie: Il Bouquet Classico. The Programme: Works by L. Boccherini, J. Haydn, M. Haydn and WA Mozart. Giardino di Delizie proposes a journey through immaterial art par excellence. An unprecedented path that begins and ends in Austrian classicism (Mozart and the Haydn brothers), but going through the Italian gallant style (Boccherini). The links between each other are evident in their personal relationships, their admirations and their influences. The Giardino di Delizie Musicians:

Tuesday, 16th July at 17h at the Prat Gran, Encamp. (Free) Afternoons in Encamp with PecAnimation. A cocktail of humour through play and animation. We will discover the magic of a country where we can all go with our ‘noses held high’, where the dances are exotic and where the balloons can also carry away our imaginations.

Thursday, 18th July at 17h at the Prat Gran, Encamp. (Free) Afternoons in Encamp with a foam party and disco. A fun party where all children can enjoy a large foam bath accompanied by popular music, which will make the party even more entertaining!

Every Saturday from 6th July to 10th August and from 10h – 13h and 16h – 19h at the Plaça de l’Església, Pas de la Casa and at the Prat Gran, Encamp, you will find lots of Inflatables where you can have fun with your friends.

Sunday, 21st July starting at 9h at the Borda del Pi, Canillo, (20€, essential material: mat and pillow) Hatha yoga session and healthy brunch. Participate in a hatha yoga session (yoga of strength) given by Diana Torra, focused on regenerating and recovering the body after practicing sports, by movement and breathing. When you finish, Veggie’s World will offer a healthy brunch and will explain the benefits of food and super foods. A part of the revenue from this session will be allocated to the RastreZero project, which aims to keep the mountains clean.

This summer, enjoy your mountain bike hobby with the 2nd edition of the Great Andorra MTB Descent. The test exits from and returns to Naturlandia 2,000. Race programme: The GF AND MTB 93K, with an approximate distance of 93.73 km and 2,935 meters of altitude difference; GF AND MTB 45K, 45 km and 1,400 m of altitude difference. New this year, the GF AND MTB 24Km, of 24.28 km and an altitude difference of 831 meters, is ideal for those who want to try out mountain bike racing. The Great Andorra MTB Descent is open to all people over 16. The route goes through the municipalities of Sant Julià de Lòria, Lles de Cerdanya, Estamariu, Pont de Bar, Arcavell and Bescaran. All the participants have a wide range of services at their disposal, to make the day an unforgettable mountain bike experience: roadside assistance, mechanical assistance, bicycle parking, provision upon arrival for washing of bicycles, among others. And for the companions, the Gran Fondo Andorra MTB has a complete programme of activities. v Sunday, 21st July from 10h – 19h at the Gossera i Gatera Oficial d’Andorra, Sant Julià de Lòria. Open day at the Official Dogs’ and Cats’ home of Andorra. See the facilities and the animals living at the Gossera and hoping for adoption. You can interact with both cats and dogs. We will also conduct workshops for youngsters and we will give information about the responsible adoption and the laws in force in the country. STREET MARKETS AND FAIRS

Thursday, 18th July – Sunday, 21st July at the Prat del Colat, La Massana. The Serenalla Health and Crafts Market. The Serenalla Market offers you the chance to discover the latest trends leading towards a healthier life full of creativity. A space with a playful vocation in which exhibitors and the public will be able to exchange ideas and experiences. The market will have several areas where visitors will find natural products, creative workshops and a place to relax and rest, where you can taste various gastronomic offerings made from natural products. In the Àgora space, the public can interact directly with

professionals to exchange experiences, ideas and knowledge that are always related to this area. Outdoor film sessions will complement the offer of the Serenalla Market. (I went last year and found it excellent. C. A.)

Saturday, 20th July from 10h – 14h in the Plaça dels Arínsols, Encamp. Encamp Saturday market. The Encamp Entrepreneurs Association (AEE) recommences their traditional market as a showcase for trade in the parish. This initiative, which was launched in 2014 with the collaboration of the Comú d’Encamp, has had numerous auxiliary activities such as botifarrades (sausage barbeques) children’s face painting, magic, musical performances or batucades (drum bands).
