THE STORY: A coming-of-age saga set in the slums of Montreal as a young boy comes to grips with the temptations of the street while hopelessly aspiring to become a professional wrestler.
I AM NOT MADAME BOVARY (In Chinese with English subtitles) Thursday, 12th April at 20.30h at the government exhibition hall, ARTALROC, Escaldes-Engordany. (Free but REGISTRATION ESSENTIAL, ring 828 704.) In conjunction with the exhibition “Xiao Xia in Andorra”, Directed by XIAOGANG FENG. Starring: CHENGPENG DONG, BINGBING FAN, WEI FAN. THE STORY: Having no other option, Li Xuelian, a poorly educated villager, and her husband Qin Yuhe agree to fake a divorce. However, during the couple’s separation, Qin falls in love with another woman – and as if his divorce with Li was real – he decides to move on with his life, leaving the jilted former spouse out in the cold. Under those circumstances and in the dreadful position of being denounced as a Pan Jinlian – a 17th-century Chinese adulteress who conspired with her partner to kill her husband – Li sets off on a legal crusade to clear her name. But even though Li is undoubtedly determined, on the other hand, she is nothing but a small nuisance in a sluggish and bureaucratic system where, sometimes, ants can become elephants. In the end, how long can a single woman hold out against an entire government?

PRE-INAUGURATION OF THE INSTALLATION ACCIÓ PRIMAVERA. (Spring Action) Until the 25th April at La Peixera exhibition hall next to the ARTALROC gallery, Escaldes-Engordany. By ALFONS VALDÉS. The concept of ACCIÓ PRIMAVERA is that the installation will unfold progressively as it transforms the hall at La Peixera ready for the exhibition proper. The work starts on the 8th April and will continue until Wednesday 25th April when the real inauguration will take place. It appears that the public can watch this interesting transformation but it is not clear at what time. I suggest you ring 828 704 to find out.
A COLLECTIVE EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHS Tuesday, 10th April at 20h in the Vestibule of the Centre Cultural of Sant Julià de Lòria. organised by the Federació Andorrana de Fotografia. Open: Monday to Friday from 9h – 22h and Saturday from 10h – 13h.

SPORTS
Arcalis Ski Station, Ordino is extending its ski season until the end of April. From this Monday the lifts will be open from 9h – 15h.
