The strings of his flamenco guitar have vibrated in projects with the likes of Paul Carrack, Serrat, Carlos Nuñez and on Patxi Leiva’s latest disc, Alea Jacta Est . Twenty years of experience have given Patxi Leiva the opportunity to sing in places like the Auditorium and the Liceu of Barcelona, and in countries such as Russia, Armenia, Italy and Switzerland. Friday, 29th June, at 18h at El Serrat, Ordino. (Free but space limited, advance booking essential at 844 141) ONCA Basic – in honour of the European year of cultural heritage. ‘Pedagogical Dialogues’ by the Dolca Corda (Sweet Strings) Alexandre Arajol and Jordi Albelda – violins. The violin duet presents a very large but at the same time little known repertoire. Outstanding violinists and great pedagogues have written pieces with the aim of providing a repertoire within the reach of students and adapted to different levels. These are musical works that stand out above all, for their pedagogical aspects, but we believe that they are small musical jewels that we must reveal and that allow us to understand the evolution of teaching the violin and the role of these musicians. They are composers, performers and pedagogues, who have left an indelible mark on all violinists. We invite you on a musical journey with stops at the French, Italian, Belgian and German violin schools.
