Orchestra (cat. La Cobla), bronze sculpture of 1976 by Francesc Anglès, promenade of the city of L’Escala (Catalonia, Spain).

Francesc Anglès (cat. Francesc Anglès i Garcia) – doctor and sculptor, was born in Terrassa in 1938. In 1963 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Barcelona. In 1970 he made his first work as a sculptor. From 1973 to 1981, he exhibited regularly at the Gaudí Hall in Barcelona, which brought him later to the Basel International Fair.

The sculptures of Francesc Angles are characterized by the presence of human figures, and his group works create an atmosphere similar to reality. Francesc Angles is known for his white sculptures and human motifs, however he dares to work with all kinds of materials such as stone, bronze or wood.

Since 1970 he has regularly participated in group and individual exhibitions.
