"Night of the Kings" live from the Comédie-Française in Andorra

Thursday, 14th February at 20h at the Cinemes Illa Carlemany, Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra (Pyrenees) (16€ or 5€ for students). The most beautiful works of the classical repertoire of the Comédie Française (Paris, France) can be seen in Andorra with exceptional performances at the Illa Carlemany Cinema La Comédie-Française in the cinema – Saison Culturelle.

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare (presumably in French), directed by Thomas Ostermeier.

The Story: Rescued from a shipwreck, Viola arrives in Illyria where, to protect herself, she disguises herself as a man and takes the name of Césario. She then enters the service of the Duke Orsino who, charmed, makes her his page and charges her to transmit his love to the Countess Olivia. But Cesario/Viola secretly seduced by the Duke, excels so well in his mission that the countess falls in love with his ardour … Thomas Ostermeier is renowned for his stagings combining fidelity to the dramatic situation and freedom of interpretation, Through this amorous intrigue placed under the sign of travesty, he underlines how the awakening of desire can be vertiginous and the question of gender disturbing.

This is its first creation at the Comédie-Française.
