Moscow Open Student Theater

The MOST Theater (Moscow Open Student Theater) is Moscow’s state budgetary cultural institution. The modern MOST theater was opened in 2000 by a decree of the Moscow government at the request of the All-Russian Theater Society.

Three periods can be distinguished in the previous history of the theater: the theater of Moscow University (1756-1958), the Student Theater of Moscow State University (1958-2000), and the MOST theater (since 2000). The Student Theater of Moscow University is rightfully considered the oldest theater in Moscow. The student theater of the Imperial Moscow University was opened on January 26, 1756, with the play “New Arrivals” based on the play by Le Grand.

The theater has repeatedly participated in theater festivals in Europe and America.
