This summer’s most ambitious sporting event took place in Andorra (Pyrenees) – the La Purito-2019 cycling race is named after the rider Joaquim Rodríguez, former captain of the cycling team Katyusha (Russia).
The event has reached a new record with more than 2,800 riders.
Besides Purito Rodriguez, Antoni Bou, 26 times winner of trial bike, the Spanish Olympic medallist and mountain bike cyclist, José Antonio Hermida Ramos, and Joseba Beloki Dorus, the Spanish professional cyclist winner of the Volta a Catalunya, have also participated in this race.
Participants could choose between three different routes: 145, 80 and 28 kilometres.
The longest route passed through most of the country, and finished in Cortals d’Encamp in Encamp.
The Colombian cyclist, Egan Bernal, winner of the Tour de France-2019, was the main supporter and guest. He was waiting for the arrival of his girlfriend who participated in La Purito Andorra-2019.
