Monument to Mikhail Kalashnikov in Moscow

Monument to Mikhail Kalashnikov – a monument by the sculptor Salavat Shcherbakov (or Chtcherbakov), dedicated to the creator of the Kalashnikov assault rifle, Mikhail Kalashnikov. It is in Oruzheyny Square at the intersection of Oruzheyny Lane and Dolgorukovskaya Street on Garden Ring in Moscow in front of the multifunctional business complex Oruzheyny.

A statue five meters high stands on a 2-meter pedestal.

Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov (November 10, 1919, Kurya, Altai province – December 23, 2013, Izhevsk, Russia) – Soviet and Russian small arms designer. Doctor of Technical Sciences (1971), Lieutenant General (1999), creator of the world-famous Kalashnikov assault rifle (AK).
