The Minister of education of Andorra Èric Jover held on Thursday in Andorra a meeting dedicated to educational program of road safety. The meeting was attended by the heads of road services (Serveis de Circulació) of 7 districts of Andorra, the police, the representatives of the Ministry of health and the Automobile club of Andorra.
The participants discussed the program of road safety in schools of Andorra for all 3 education systems (Andorran, French and Spanish).
The Program of road safety is the result of the cooperation agreement between the government of Andorra, the mayors of the 7 counties of the Principality and the Automobile club of Andorra. It is designed for children and young people aged from 4 to 16 years. For younger children the program offers workshops in classrooms and on sports fields, as well as games that simulate traffic. For high school students special lessons and educational talks on the prevention of road accidents in police stations are scheduled.
During the next academic year the program will involve more than 4,000 students.
