Andorra and Malta started negociations on signing of an agreement of the exception of double taxation

On July 23 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra Gilbert Saboya held a meeting with the Maltese colleague George Vella within celebration of the 20 anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries.

Signing of the contract on an exception of the double taxation became the main subject of the negotiations. Besides, the parties discussed questions of association with the European Union.

Gilbert Saboya also held a meeting with the Minister of Economics and investments of Malta Christian Cardona where he informed about the economic reforms which are carried out in Andorra in recent years. Both ministers agreed to hold further joint consultations on economic questions within possible cooperation between chambers of commerce of two countries.

Within the visit to Malta Gilbert Saboya also held meetings with the president of Malta Maria-Louise Coleyro Preca, and with the ambassador of Malta in the European UnionTarciso Zammir where the parties discussed possibilities of cooperation on other directions, such as tourism and culture.

It was the first visit of Gilbert Saboya to Malta.
