Macal Sport M 70 from Portugal

Macal was founded in Portugal in 1921, and ceased production in 2004.

Manuel Caetano Henriques began manufactuing bicycle components in 1921, finding a good market for them in Great Britain. In 1958 his son Isaac de Oliveira Caetano manufactured the firm’s first moped. During the 1980s Minarelli ceased production of the engines used by Macal, and the tooling to produce them was acquired by the Macal factory. These machines were exported to many European countries, the UK, and to Angola.
