In honor of the World Cup in Alpine Skiing, which will be held in Andorra, the government of the principality issued a special coin
Andorra’s Finance Minister, Jordi Cinca presented this commemorative coin this morning which the government issued in honor of the World Alpine Ski Championships, which will be held in March.
The minister noted that the coin will perpetuate this important event in the history of the principality, confirming the high status of Andorra. This is a national project that goes beyond the world of sports, he noted. The Alpine Ski World Championship has its own coin for the first time.
As for the coin itself, it has a face value of 2 euros, a diameter of 25.75 mm and its weight is 8.50 grams. There will only be 60 000 copies made.
Coins will be sold from March 11 (the first day of the World Championship) through professional numismatists, as was done before, as well as through points of sale of goods of the World Alpine Skiing Championships.
