Four griffins are located on the sides of the granite pier of Universitetskaya embankment (St. Petersburg) on the Neva River almost at the very water, opposite the building of the Academy of Arts, neighboring another symbol of the city – the Sphinxes. The figures of griffins were cast in bronze according to the models of P. P. Godet in 1834.
