The Government of Andorra believes that Catalonia continues to be a part of Spain and calls for dialogue to resolve the situation

The Government of Andorra (Pyrenees) believes that Catalonia continues to be a part of Spain and calls for dialogue to resolve the situation, reports the Government of Andorra in its official newsletter.

“The Government of Andorra believes that the vote of the Parliament of Catalonia has no legal force,” the official statement of the Andorran government says.

The government calls for dialogue within the framework of the existing Spanish Constitution.

“The issue of separating Catalonia from Spain is an internal issue of Spain, and the solution should be found with the respect for the Spanish Constitution. Andorra imports about 70% of its products from Spain. The trade between Spain and Andorra is about 1.2 billion euros a year”, says the Minister of Economy, Innovation and Competitiveness Gilbert Saboya.

The Government of Andorra confirms its desire to continue, as before, “good bilateral relations with Spain and good-neighborly relations with Catalonia”.
