GAZ-05-193. Military bus

GAZ-05-193 – Soviet army staff bus of a small class on the chassis of GAZ-AAA trucks. A 4-speed gearbox (four forward speeds and one reverse speed) and a gasoline, in-line, four-cylinder, lower-valve engine with aluminum cylinder pistons with a volume of 3.28 liters and a power of 40 hp were mounted on a reinforced stamped steel ladder-type frame in the front part at 2200 rpm. Since 1938, he received an engine of 50 hp.

It was used as a headquarters vehicle for the Red Army. It hads places for 9 persons: a driver and a passenger in the cabin, six soldiers and one radio operator in the saloon. The radio operator had an equipped place.

In the middle of the saloon stood a table bolted to the floor with many pull-out drawers, long seats upholstered in leather. The bus also had map storage, a document safe, and an ammunition box. The bus was heated by an exhaust gas stove. The bus was produced in small batches from 1936 to 1941. The total number of produced buses is 194 units.
