The pianist Alexandre Tharaud (France) opens this Friday (24.02.2017) at the Congress Centre (Andorra la Vella) in Andorra (Pyrenees) 23d season of music and dance (23 Temporada de música i dansa d’Andorra la Vella). The pianist presents a solo evening “Romantic Piano” (El piano romàntic). The concert starts at 20.00. The concert program includes works by Beethoven, Schubert, Scarlatti, Rachmaninoff.
The pianist graduated from the Paris Conservatory, the class of Germaine Mounier in 1985. He got an education by Théodore Paraskivesco, Nikita Magaloff, Claude Helffer and Leon Fleisher. He gave concerts with the Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra. He also played on the stages of Carnegie Hall (New York), Royal Albert Hall (London), Amsterdam Concertgebouw (The Royal Concertgebouw is a concert hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands). He is a member of major international music festivals in Edinburgh, London (BBC Proms), Aix-en-Provence, Moscow, Russia, (the “December Nights”).
