Francesc Pantebre ArquésNational Archive of Andorra issued the new catalogue in digital format with historical photos of Andorra, made by Francesc Pantebre Arqués (1906-1999). The collection includes documentary photography of Andorra of early 60’s.

His photographs are a report about the changes that started to happen in Andorra in this historical period, – the period of transition of agrarian country into a country of services of banking and skiing. This is the era of the birth in Andorra of the new architecture, the tourist market and high-tech services.

For the first time the national archives provides sample photos exclusively in color. Processing in the style of “vintage” photos gave the collection a modern view, while keeping the charm of photography of 60-70s.

The photography was a craft for Francesc Pantebre, but due to his love of the Catalan folk culture his photography today – is an art. His photo archive he began preparing in 1933.

National archive of Andorra owns his photo calloction. It consists of 2305 negatives in various formats and on various media, ranging from glass, ending with plastic slides. This catalogue refers to the period of activity of the artist, dating from 1933 to 1969.
