FIAT 508CM. Light tactical military vehicle

When Fiat released the 508C Nuova Balilla in 1937, it extrapolated from the civilian version a military tactical model called the Fiat 508C Coloniale. Meanwhile, on July 11, 1938, the car was presented in Avezzano. 508CM, an evolution of the previous colonial car featuring boxy shapes and reinforced suspension. It was the most common reconnaissance vehicle during World War II. In addition to the standard military version, a Fiat 508CM Coloniale version was produced until 1943, adapted for use in Italian East Africa. In addition, taking into account the fighting on the eastern front, a closed-body version of the Fiat 508CM Berlina FO (Eastern Front) was built. After the war, it continued to be used until 1960 by the Republican armed forces.
