A festive carnival, which is celebrated every year on the eve of Lent, takes place on 10th February in Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany. The registration has already started, everyone can participate in the parade. Registration will end on February 9th.
Groups of not less than eight people will be able to take part in contests for the most original costume and dance. Groups of all ages can take part in the competition.
The winners of the costume contest will receive 500 euros (first prize), 350 euros (second prize), 250 euros (third prize) and 200 euros (fourth prize). The winners of the dance competition will receive 300 euros (first prize), 250 euros (second prize) and 200 euros (third prize).
This year, for the first time, the competition “The most original family” with a prize fund of 200 euros will be held.
The parade starts at 18.00. The procession will move from the parc de la Mola d’Escaldes-Engordany park and will follow the streets of Carlemany and Meritxell, as well as carrers de les Canals, Mossèn Tremosa, Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer, Doctor Nequi and avinguda Princep Benlloch. The procession will end in plaça del Poble d’Andorra la Vella, where the festival will be continued by the performance of the dance participants.
