Ferrovial (Spain) has become the first infrastructure company in the world to provide its employees with a generative artificial intelligence tool to facilitate a large part of their day-to-day work and increase efficiency and competitiveness. The platform is part of the partnership with Microsoft, which aims to advance the development of digital solutions for the construction, infrastructure, and mobility industries.
A combination of advanced AI algorithms will provide support to users, who will be able to use the tool to write texts, analyze information, and summarize and translate documents, all under the employee’s supervision. A distinguishing feature of this virtual assistant, based on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Services, is privacy, since it has been designed to work in a secure data environment: it guarantees that the information to be processed is internal and, therefore, confidential.
The solution is evolving constantly and, in the future, can be trained with information from the company’s business units based on years of experience. As the tool is deployed, new features, such as text analysis, can be added to provide greater value and adapt more closely to employees’ needs.

The launch of the first generative AI assistant by Ferrovial is another step forward in making the most advanced technologies available to its lines of business. This is the case of AIVIA Orchestrated Connected Corridors, in which artificial intelligence plays an essential role in the development of infrastructure and technology for the coexistence of conventional and autonomous vehicles.
It is also a milestone in the partnership between Ferrovial and Microsoft to develop digital solutions for the construction, infrastructure, and mobility industries, in line with both companies’ commitment to innovation, digital transformation and the decarbonization of the economy. As a result of this agreement, Ferrovial has become one of the first companies to incorporate Azure Open AI technology into its daily activities. Additionally, the company was recently awarded the construction and commissioning of one of the data processing centers (DPC) that Microsoft is developing in Spain.
