The ESDi School of Design (University Ramon Llull) wins the award in recognition of its support and collaboration with the “Gremi de la Fusta de Sabadell Comarca“.
On Friday the 24th of March, two important events took place at the Wood Guild: the XXIX edition of the Catalan Wood and Furniture Competition, held at the Industrial School, and the annual Sant Josep dinner of the Gremi de la Fusta de Sabadell i Comarca.
On the one hand, ESDi starred in the XXIX edition of the Competition of Students of Wood and Furniture of Catalonia in the Industrial School of Sabadell. The competition consisted of designing a wooden bottle rack based on a model made by ESDi students. Students from different schools in Catalonia had four hours to design and assemble the bottle rack. The competition was based on whether or not the student completed the design in the time allotted. Jordi Sanchis, Head of the Wood and Furniture Department at the Industrial School, said that the jury also looked at other measures.
On the evening of the same Friday, the Gremi de la Fusta de Sabadell i Comarca invited the member companies to the Sant Josep 2023 Fellowship Dinner at the Hotel Verdi.
In front of an audience of 150 people, the Director General of ESDi, Georgina Bombardó, received the award in recognition of the school’s support and collaboration with the Guild. He also said a few words on behalf of all the winners of the evening, adding to the value of this recognition.
