A new ambassador of Latvia in Andorra Yanis Aimanis was appointed on April, 4

Latvian Ministry for foreign affairs informs that on April 4, 2013 a new ambassador of Latvia in Andorra (Pyrenees) Yanis Aimanis presented his credentials to co-Prince of Andorra, the bishop of La Seu D’Urgell (Spain, Catalonia) Joan Enriс Vives i Sicília.

After the ceremony in the presence of the Minister for Foreign Affairs Gilbert Saboya, the parties discussed the perspectives of bilateral relations and also recent international events. In particular, Andorran side expressed its interest in supporting Latvia in the negotiations with EU regarding signing the agreement on associations. The bishop d’Urgell was also interested in the position of Latvia in relation to Ukrainian events.

Previously in the summer of 2013 the co-Prince of Andorra came to Latvia with private visit. The residence of Yanis Aimanis, who also acts as the ambassador of Latvia in Spain, is located in Madrid.
