Disabled wheelchairs: Voltmann Westphalia (Germany). Production at the Voltmann plant began in 1871 and continued until 1979. Until 1920, the company produced mainly hand-driven stroller and the principle of work borrowed from a bicycle, and subsequently the company began to develop electric motors or internal combustion engines (ICE). All the strollers, produced even in the postwar years, were heavy, as they were made of wood and metal pipes. But the simplicity and cheapness of the design made them very popular and in good demand on the world markets.
