The Government of Andorra has approved new rules for the accreditation of doctors cooperating with CASS (Caixa Andorrana de Seguretat Social, Andorra Social Security Service). The new rules tighten the conditions for obtaining accreditation of doctors who want to provide their services under an agreement with the government on social security or private treatment. In particular, obtaining accreditation requires signing an application under oath, guaranteeing that the doctor did not have serious problems related to professional activities, and has no criminal record for crimes in the medical area.
The new rules for the accreditation of doctors are part of the overall program for reforming the health system in Andorra (Pyrenees). Its goal is to improve the quality standards in the provision of medical services. According to the rules, accreditation is mandatory for all doctors.
