By the present moment nearly 50 applications for receiving the personified registration car numbers are submitted to the Government of Andorra. The relevant law allowing to the population obtaining such numbers was adopted only on December 29 last year, while in other countries of Europe and the world such practice works for many years.
According to this law, the citizen or the resident of Andorra has to make official request to the Government in a standard form and pay a tax of 41 euros. Competent authorities (l’Automòbil Club d’Andorra ACA) have to give the official answer within 1 month. In case of an affirmative answer registration of such numbers has to be made within the next 2 months. Numbers have to be registered only on the car specified in request without possibility of transfer and their installation for other car.
The personified number has to consist of a combination of letters and figures (not less than 2 and no more than 5). Refusal in registration of such number can be made on the basis of request for the combination contradicting public morals.
The tax on registration of such number will make from 300 euros (for a combination of 2 letters and 3 figures) to 6000 euros (if a combination less than 5 symbols).
In the Government note that in the first year of action of the law the budget can receive 2 million euros additionally.
