Black Dodge 3700 GT from 1977, 6 cylinders, 3684 cc
The Dodge 3700 is a luxury automobile model manufactured by the Spanish company Chrysler Spain, formerly Barreiros Diesel, between 1971 and 1977. It was presented in May 1971 at the Barcelona Motor Show (Catalonia, Spain).
Starting from 1970, the directors of Chrysler España S.A. intended to introduce the fourth generation of the American Dart which for purely commercial reasons in Spain abandoned the name Dart and would be renamed “Dodge 3700” to promote its powerful character, based on the Chrysler-Fevre Argentina Dodge Polara. Unparalleled in the United States and with Spanish mechanics, it was produced from 1971 to 1977.
The Dodge was produced as a CKD due to the Spanish regulations of those years. The production of the Dodge 3700 in Spain was 9959 copies, of which less than a thousand were dedicated to export, all this despite Chrysler Spain’s attempts to take advantage of Chrysler’s commercial network in Europe.
