Barnaul International Airport

Barnaul International Airport named after Gherman Stepanovich Titov (sometimes Mikhailovka Airport) is a class B airport, located 17 km west of the city center of Barnaul in the Altai Krai along the Pavlovsky Highway. Administratively, the airport is part of Barnaul. It is an airport of federal significance. The second operating airport (small aviation airport) in the Altai Territory is located in the resort town of Belokurikha.

The airport appeared in 1937 when an aviation unit was created; the first aircraft based at the Barnaul airfield were Po-2. During the period of preparation for the war with Japan, the 401st Air Defense Fighter Aviation Regiment from the 297th Air Force was based at the airfield from July 1945 on La-7 aircrafts.
