Equipped with numerous airplanes, this engine is associated with multiple exploits. In 1906, Santos-Dumont made the first flight with the №14-bis. Farman completed the first kilometer in a closed circuit in 1908. Then, Hubert Latham reached an altitude of 1,000 meters in 1910. This aviation engine also found application on airships, such as the Italia in 1908.
