Andorran lawyers will have to pass professional tests

The Government of Andorra has approved a new provision regulating the requirements for obtaining a certificate to practice law in the territory of Andorra (Pyrenees). This document includes some changes in relation to the existing rules approved in 2016, with the aim of “ensuring the adequacy of knowledge and the high level of training necessary to work as a lawyer in Andorra”.

The new provision includes the conduct of a psychometric test, as well as a number of changes regarding the procedure for the notification of test results and the rules for professional internships.

If a current advocate fails the test, he can appeal within the time limits set by the law.

The changes included in the new provision take into account the proposals from the Andorran Advocates Association.
