The President of the Federation of Business Associations of Andorra (FACA) Antonio Miralles claimed that Andorra (Pyrenees) will keep compatible prices for electronics, household appliances, canadian pharmacy, alcohol and tobacco in reference to France and Spain; at that the price gap can come up to 40%. The market researches, conducted by Spanish marketing agencies in accordance to the orders of trading institutes of the Principality, demonstrate significant compatible advantages of Andorran stores. “For instance, if we take the analysis of price behavior in the last two weeks of July, we will see that the price difference for certain models of TV-sets made up 99%, taking discount into consideration.
Out of 55 goods, taken as samples of analysis in November, only 3 had a better price in neighbor Spain and France, and 6 were of the same price as in Spain. In average, the price gap for household appliances and electronics made up 32-37% in favor of Andorra.
It should be recalled that Andorra has got one of the lowest VAT fixed rates – 4.5%. In neighbor France and Spain VAT rate for different groups of goods may come up to 22%.
