Andorra joins a program for the textile waste recycling
The Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Sustainable Development of Andorra has joined a program for the textile waste recycling, which is supported by the regional council of Occitanie and the agency for the protection of the environment and energy control of the Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées regions.
The main objective of this project is to collect waste from the textile industry, to select materials suitable for reuse, and to create a textile recycling plant by grinding waste to produce insulating material. The initiative provides for the possibility of creating jobs for people in social isolation.
The city council of Bourg-Madame, the legal association Emmaüs France, charitable organization Caritas d’Andorra, the administration of La Seu d’Urgell and the municipality of Puigcerdà (Gerona province) also participate in the project.
